Rizoma Film is an independent film and television production company based in Rome, Italy. After over 10 years since its foundation, Rizoma Film has consistently followed its passion for documentary bringing to light stories with a strong message but still little known, at the same time strengthening its vocation to produce for the international market. Rizoma Film documentaries were shown and awarded in numerous festivals, and distribuited on Amazon Prime and Netflix.

Luigi Antonio Conte
FOUNDER & PRODUCER
Graduated in sociology at La Sapienza University in Rome, he started working in documentary field focusing on stories with a strong and significant message but still little known. Among his recent works as a producer, After Prayers (2019, 61′) on Kashmir struggle for independence, who won several festivals in Europe; The Heart of a Doll (2019, 86′) on the romantic life of Lulu Rimmel, an artist who never gives up despite her severe disability (distributed on AMAZON PRIME); Le Génie Féminin, Femmes au Vatican (2018, 52′), tackling the theme of gender equality, produced for the French Catholic broadcaster KTO TV (distribuited on NETFLIX).
Antonio Di Domenico
DIRECTOR
After graduating at Rossellini film school in Rome he worked several years in advertising field and television as Dop like History Channel USA, Discovery Channel Canada and National Geographic, developing a strong interest in documentary making. His first direction comes in 2015 with Banda Bassotti – the international brigade (2015, 52′), on the history of italian ska-oi-punk band Banda Bassotti. In 2016 he co-directs with Luigi A. Conte the doc-serie Tous les chemins mènent à Rome for the french broadcaster KTO TV. In 2018 Le Génie Féminin, Femmes au Vatican, also co-directed with Conte. In 2019 Heart of a Doll. He is actually in production with a feature documentary Mork chiama Ork about the art curator antropologue Giorgio De Finis.
Sarah Perruccio
SCREENWRITER
Born in 1982 in the UK and raised in Italy. Sarah obtained a degree cum laude in Arts, Theatre and Music disciplines (DAMS) at Università di Roma Tre and a MA in Applied Theatre at the University of Manchester, with merit. She has recently completed a film script currently in pre-production, L’Innesto, to be directed by Dario Germani. She regularly collaborates, as author, with the production company Rizoma Film, whose project, Cuore di Bambola, was presented at the EFM in Berlin 2019 and at the International Giffoni Festival. She also collaborates with literary magazines Letterate Magazine and Leggendaria and was on the board of SIL, the Italian Society of Women of Letters.
Simone Mestroni
DIRECTOR
After completing his Ph.D. in anthropology Simone dedicated himself to conveying his academic background into documentary film making and photography. His first documentary, “After Prayers”, was realized with the support of the Wenner Foundation Grant and was awarded at Vienna Ethnocineca, Etnofilmfest and FilmSouthasia fest. His book, “Lines of Control”, has been released in 2018 and is used as a course bookin three Italian universities. In 2019 Simone got awarded “deeper perspective photographer of the year” at IPA with his ongoing photographic project “Kabristan-Land of Graves”.
